Huckleberry is one of those sweet boys we didn’t expect to select to leave.  He’s firmly in the category of ‘what was I thinking?!’.  His body feels great and has a pretty nice pattern.  His ears are very well-furred.  There’s so much to like about him.  He’s the sire to a gorgeous fox doe we showed this past year and some others that we have decided to move on with.  His sire is our chestnut herd buck, Chinkapin.  If you love a rabbit that will give you kisses in exchange for back scratches, you’ve come to the right place!  This guy was thoroughly spoiled by the boys when he was younger, and is always at the front of his cage to greet me.   He’s been living the easy life, and eating like a king, so has been on a diet these past couple weeks to get back into shape for the big show coming up (he was getting a bit fat).  Huckleberry is red and white seal registered, and failed to get his red, white, and blue because one animal on the back line of his pedigree wasn’t registered.  Including him, 11 of the 15 rabbits shown on his 3 generation pedigree are grand champions.  His pedigree is all Lots-a-Hop’s, except a Cole’s doe on the back line.  He has thrown dilute and a variety of beautiful colors depending on what he was bred to, including solid or broken chestnut, orange, tort, blue tort, fawn, and fox.
