Duke is super calm, sweet, and friendly with type to boot! He placed 2nd/40 in a very competitive black senior buck class at the ARBA Convention 2024 in Kentucky. He also has 6 legs from limited showing we did with him last summer. He’s proven but should only be used for breeding within a BEW program since he has a 50% chance of carrying Vienna genes. He carries dilute too, and his mother is by one of our favorite bucks, Lots-a-Hop’s Dragon (blue, RGC, 3 legs). Other lines in his background include Lots-a-Hop’s, Renew Farm Bunnies’, Coin, Simons’, and Roadie Roo’s. He has very round and very WELL-furred ears, a nice big bold head, smooth body and full hindquarters. I find his biggest fault to be his scattered white hairs, but that hasn’t stopped him from making great accomplishments, and doesn’t matter for making BEWs. Duke has one rabbit missing information on the very back line of his pedigree, but his babies can be eligible for registration. All other animals on his pedigree have complete information.
He wants to be loved and cuddled and would make an amazing kids show rabbit for 4-H, open, or youth. I’ve considered many times letting our middle son keep him but felt it would be unfair to our older son to have to compete against one of ours of this caliber, when he is working hard to build his own better rabbits. I’d love to see him go help someone’s BEW program and/or find a kid who needs an especially friendly and cool bun to be their show buddy.
